This property presents a polarized experience, appealing to long-term guests for its convenient location and breakfast, but recently suffering from severe sanitation and operational failures. Several recent guests reported moldy environments, pest infestations, and concerning security issues, leading many to advise avoiding the stay despite previous positive feedback.
Unpleasant experience. Bugs inside the room and flew at my face. Room had a strong odor. When using the business center, the copier/printer malfunctioned, and they even ran out of staples. When asked to speak to the manager, the front desk agent stated he was unavailable. Numerous problems. This hotel does not represent the IHG brand. Overall, it was very disappointing.
As a fellow hotelier in the area for a conference, I was very disappointed by the condition and security at this property. All of the exterior doors either did not lock or were propped open for all but the last night of my stay. There are severe maintenance and condition issues that I encountered, rusty and dust clogged air vents, the deadbolt on my door kept sticking so I couldn't get the door to my room open without a fight, there is a wind tunnel coming through the strike plate on the bathroom door in the room in which I stayed and the solution was that someone stuffed it full of tissues, the ac unit does not work because the thermostat in the room does not work, like has no display, screen is blank and was hanging from the wall. I reported this the morning of my second night as the day I arrived it was late and I just wanted to go to sleep, the issue was never addressed and I was without any heat for 4 days. I again mentioned it at check out that they may want to take care of that issue before someone else gets put into the room and the agent thanked me and asked me to leave a review... Cleanliness. The room seemed to have been cleaned, though did not smell fresh (probably due to no air circulation from the dysfunctional ac unit), hair in the bath tub, dried blood splatter on the wall by the bathroom sink, lots of dust on the headboard and lamp shades and a very large stain on the carpet as soon as you walk in. Many of the issues are above what the line level staff can resolve and need to be addressed with upper management and ownership as they are glaring issues with the physical building and show immense amount of neglect. I went out and purchased clorox wipes to clean everything in my room the morning after my arrival. What was the most disturbing find was the 8th floor ice machine, this thing has to be 15 - 20 years old which if it were properly cared for wouldn't be an issue, however the grate on the ice machine was so disgusting, it looked as though there was fecal matter smeared on it and stuck to it, if it is that disgusting on the outside I'd be willing to bet that the filters inside and the inside of it in general haven't been maintained. I brought this to the attention of one of the front desk and they said they would have it taken care of, needless to say....the same person they "sent" to fix my ac was probably the same person they "sent" to clean the ice machine. As a hospitality professional of 30+ years in the industry, this property was shameful. I've read the reviews and I can assure you that despite the copy and paste argument that you put on any review that states the condition and cleanliness of your property that you follow all of the brand standards when it comes to preventative maintenance and deep cleaning and QA standards, you aren't fooling anyone, walking through this property, there were several auto fails taking place throughout . You had a hotel full of General Manager's from other properties and the consensus was the same. Your hotel needs serious help and it wont be long until a guest makes a call to the local department of health to advise of the safety and sanitary issues going on. Do better management and ownership...do better
Great/safe location, friendly staff, clean/large rooms. Planned to stay for 1 night at first then extended to 8 nights, had a pleasant stay. Comfort of the hotel made our stay more delightful. Breakfast buffet is also sufficient. Thanks for all, highly recommended
Our room was very nice. The exercise room was clean and everything was working. I have to give Nadia a special rating . She was outstanding in getting the breakfast area full and clean. She always greets you with a smile and is so gracious. I highly recommend this hotel.
This is clearly an older building, and it shows. The carpets really need to be replaced and the elevator is small and very slow. Overall, the experience was very average at best. They do offer free breakfast and free parking, which was appreciated. The breakfast was okay, but there were no real meat options besides turkey sausage — and no one seemed to eat it, so it shouldn’t have been the only option. The warm cinnamon rolls were good, and the biscuits were as well. The room itself had several issues. The sink backed up, and the fridge didn’t work — it even melted my ice cream. The eighth floor also seemed to be where staff frequently gathered and spent time on their phones instead of tending to guest needs. I wouldn’t stay here again.
The hotel was great and the rooms were spacious and clean. But where this places really shines is the breakfast as it is really great and delicious and a great way to start the day and of course you can’t forget the customer services as everyone there working was nice and wanted to help to their best ability especially Nadia. She was in charge of breakfast when we went to eat and she made sure everything was fresh and hot and when I asked her if more eggs and potatoes could be made she was more than nice and made sure to give me a heads up when it was ready she truly made my breakfast experience even better because of her kindness and hospitality! This was by far one of the best hotels I have stayed at in the Atlanta area. Thank you Holiday Inn and Nadia 10/10!
What an experience! Smh I booked this stay weeks ago just to break up or travel time and have a place to rest before we head back home. Being an IHG member I thought this would be a pretty decent hotel, well I was wrong. I called in advance to request a late check in and a late check out. I was told that my account would be notated and being a member they would grant that for me. Only to arrive at the hotel and the manager on duty Afif Rahman would not honor that! We are extremely tired from traveling from Florida and have to go to Ohio tomorrow and he refused to honor my IHG membership and the time I was granted to check out. Then we get to the room and the tub is dirty (see pictures), there's stains in multiple places on the carpet, the ceiling is covered in dust and cobwebs, and the pillows stinks. I would not recommend this hotel at all and will never book another Holiday Inn Express EVER. Especially not this one. I stayed in Crowne Plaza and Hampton Inn both through IHG and the experience was 100xs better. If I could've cancelled this hotel without losing my money, I would've and went next door!
This review is not for management, this is is just for the awareness of the Customers who are going to book the hotel. One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We checked into this property expecting a clean, comfortable stay in the king room with a sofa (Room no 500) that we booked and paid for. Instead, the room had bugs (attached the image of them, we caught in a bottle), which we discovered inside the room. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about hygiene, cleanliness, and safety at this hotel. When we approached the front desk for help, the staff showed no proper concern about the situation. Instead of offering a solution and reacting immediately and they cannot do anything at that moment as the cleaning staff were not present. They insisted on giving us a downgraded room (WE CHECKED IN THE PRICELINE, IT SHOWED SAME ROOM IS AVAILABLE THOUGH), even though the issue was entirely on the hotel’s side. No apology, no compensation, no room upgrade nothing. Just a dismissive attitude and a total lack of customer care. We were left feeling extremely uncomfortable, frustrated, and disappointed. Cleanliness and customer service should be the very basic standards of any hotel, but this place failed at both. For the price we paid, this was not only inconvenient but also stressful. Management definitely needs to improve cleanliness, pest control, and staff training immediately. I would’nt say “NOT TO STAY” at this Hotel but get ready for the BUGS as they are going to sleep along with you??
Don’t come here. I thought it was discounted because of Black Friday promotions but it was probably cheap for a reason. The other reviews here show blood stained pillows, bugs, musty and moldy smelling rooms, profiling (being followed and asked if they were supposed to be there). I don’t usually read reviews thoroughly so that’s on me. For me: they either were racist and thought I didn’t belong or this really is their policy: the clerk glared at me and said ‘what’s your room number and give me a photo ID’ when I asked for some toothpaste. Your literal card in the rooms say to ask for amenities if you forgot something; I forgot toothpaste. Ive never had to show ID for toothpaste in my life at a hotel. If I didn’t have my drivers license on me, you want me to go up to my room to get it for you? 2) the closets and drawers were open when I entered the room - I questioned why this was and they just told me ‘well is anything missing?’ - lol, I guess it’s just the unprofessional nature of it and the fact that I don’t know if someone had just been rummaging through a room I might be staying in just prior? front desk thought I was weird for thinking it’s weird to have the closet and drawers already open before entering a new room 3) mold? shower floor, pretty obvious black gunk, posted a photo. Easily removable with even tissues. I asked them to send someone to clean the bathroom and they wouldn’t clean it until after check out for me. Okay. They did offer to change my room, but at this point I just plan to sleep and leave the next morning than move all my stuff out of the room to a new room with potentially different issues and re-address new things. 4) told me to request late checkout the morning of checkout after 10am. The whole point of wanting late checkout at 2pm is to not get up early to check out. They wouldn’t let me request late check out sooner. Weird policy again here, never had this issue at the dozens of hotel stays I’ve had this year 5) Mold smell from AC unit. same comment as an earlier post I saw of a low review. It had a musky, moldy smell when entering the room. It’s an old unit and it barely works. The fan speeds are broken, pretty sure, the high and low have the same output. It does ‘work’ because it did heat up my room and the room did eventually get colder after a couple of hrs when I set it to 62… but they need some proper maintenance or new ACs here. I understand the other reviews about it on google now DO NOT COME HERE. There are SO MANY better options in Atlanta. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: -I said you offered a new room, so no, I did not inaccurately represent what happened. I also asked your staff to clean the bathroom of the mold when I left, they said yes, I came back, no attempt at cleaning. So, this again, is an inaccurate representation on your end. -In terms of security, I also acknowledged this is your policy, have never had that anywhere else I've stayed. That's probably >100 stays in the past couple of years and yours is the only one actively demanding ID verification for toothpaste. Do you do this with all your guests or pick and choose who? I saw them give out amenities without ID to other guests, so you tell me? -As I explained, I didn't want a new room because I didn't want to move all my stuff and just wanted to sleep and get out of there. I did not use your dirty shower and went elsewhere the next morning. So no, I am not inaccurately representing the situation. -I reached out to guest relations because your worker literally told me 'was anything stolen? if not, what's the issue?' when I asked about your cabinets and closet being open upon my arrival. -Spin this however you wish. My review is an honest one. Your hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and am letting people know to avoid this hotel. It's cheap, so people will come here. If people want to pay a little more for a nicer hotel, this review is for them. I definitely won't be coming back, there are much nicer options. Thank you
This is my 12th stay at this location as im a traveling nurse on assignment at a hospital minutes away from this hotel. I can appreciate the convenience and proximity of all my local destinations. Ive stayed in several different rooms at this location. Floor 8 left more to be desired with a glitchy thermostat unit and water stains on the wall/ceiling. Occasionally id have the privilege of the newer rooms with glass enclosed sliders. Breakfast, when im able to go is satisfying with a larger variety. The hours are not early enough One of my favorite features of this hotel is the ground basement parking. Up until this current stay i felt safe but my last week here i was approached by non guests in the parking garage asking for money, my meal was stolen at the front desk after delivery and when I pointed out my concern to 2 employees they responded with "yes, its going downhill here, our manager will review the cameras and reach out to you tomorrow" nobody contacted me. I understand that the hotel cant control unethical behavior or actions but when the staff point out that its unsafe there- there is an issue that needs to be addressed. My last room was 306- there were also tiny reddish bugs on all counter surfaces. Lastly, one of the guys that works early mornings is always sound asleep with head down on the counter. Ive left my cards many times- which never awakens him. Im returning back to the area to complete my hospital contract and booked with the hilton garden inn for 7 days- it was also about 86.00 less than here.
